Customer review; In the words of Laura Grant of Forest Holidays
In January of this year we interviewed Laura Grant, Central Operations General Manager of Forest Holidays. This interview was previous published in our magazine. Read how she manages to offer her guests simple luxury in stunning locations.
Exploring and connecting with nature
“Forest Holidays gives you ample space to strengthen the bonds with family or friends, whilst discovering the beauty of the countryside,” explains Laura Grant, Central Operations General Manager. “The exclusive accommodation opportunities in the depths of the woods make for a truly special experience.”
Spending the night in a real tree hut
In tandem with the Forestry Commission, Forest Holidays manages nine locations in beautiful forestry sites across both England and Scotland, offering a total of 571 holiday accommodation places. These range from individual tree houses to cabins with accommodation for groups of up to 10 people. There are also a number of exclusive hideaways for romantic couples. Guests truly appreciate the relaxation and finding peace and quiet in the very heart of nature. Alternatively, there is a selection of activity holidays: Canoeing, cycling, climbing, fishing; there is just so much to choose from! Local providers also deliver a genuine contribution to the holiday experience. When it comes to eating and drinking, Forest Holidays also aims as far possible to work with local suppliers. “For example, our onsite shops offer locally baked fresh bread and in the bistro the meat on your plate will be sourced from the local butcher.”
Although the cabins may be self catering, Forest Holidays does everything it can to make a stay as convenient as possible. One good example is the Wecovi Service guest set. Laura Grant: “Along with Wecovi we have put together a handy pack containing a number of kitchen essentials, which includes for instance a small bottle of washing- up liquid and a dishcloth. The package‘s wrapper is designed in our house-style. We‘ve been offering this service for about a year now - the same period we‘ve been working with Wecovi. And it‘s certainly a true success story, in every sense! Our fixed contact person really feels like part of our team, delivering a positive contribution on every occasion. Wecovi‘s flexible approach is also vital to us.”
Forest Holidays will open a tenth location in June; the first in Wales. This will be a truly exclusive spot, ringed by snowy mountain tops and with just 16 cabins. And another location will be opened the following year. Forest Holidays will also focus on reaching new guests. Currently, most guests are British, however the number of visitors from the Netherlands is on the increase. “Hopefully Wecovi can grow along with us,” Laura Grant observes. “We certainly see plenty of potential to do more together!”
