Core values as a compass in times of change

For Henk, they are not slogans to hang on the wall, but convictions that must be visible in daily work. “Core values only have value if you live them. That means we want to see them reflected in how we treat one another, how we collaborate with customers, and how we make decisions,” he says.
Putting it into practice
When Henk started at Wecovi, people often talked about “family values.” Nice words, but not clear to everyone. That’s why these values were sharply defined during strategic sessions. “We didn’t just want to state what matters, but also make clear what it means in practice,” he says.
That becomes evident in moments when the entire organization comes together. Like when the production of floor pads came under pressure: office employees went to the production hall to help. “In moments like that, you feel the power of together, action. You feel: we are one Wecovi.”
Reliability and customer focus as the foundation for growth
For Henk, every customer relationship starts with being reliable, based on one principle: a deal is a deal. Wecovi is already known for its high delivery reliability, which has further improved in recent times. “Every customer must be able to trust that we deliver what we promise. It’s about more than numbers: it’s about building trust, time and time again.”
That reliability goes hand in hand with customer focus, which Henk sees as an important driver of growth. “Customers today expect more than a product. They want you to think along with them, solve problems, and spot opportunities they haven’t seen yet.” According to him, that requires good listening and the courage to act quickly, ensuring Wecovi is always one step ahead.
If you want people to embrace change, you need to show them why.

Leadership with a vision for the future
The transition Wecovi is going through requires leadership that both provides direction and inspires. For Henk, this means staying on course, bringing energy, and helping people understand the “why” behind every step. “If you want people to embrace change, you need to show them why. You must believe in it yourself and lead by example.”
That way of leading also forms the foundation of his vision for the future. In three years, Henk envisions a Wecovi that not only delivers what it promises, but is also seen as an inspiring partner for its customers. An organization that radiates calm, offers joy in work, and nurtures long-term relationships. “I want our core values not only to be visible in what we do by then, but also to be felt by everyone who works with us.”
