Our Sets Are Carefully Packed by Work Centers
At Wecovi Service, we place great importance on corporate social responsibility. You may already know us for our guest sets that warmly welcome your guests. You’re likely familiar with what’s inside these sets, the fact that the new packaging is made from recycled cardboard, and that these can even be personalized according to your preferences. What you might not know is how these sets are produced. At Wecovi Service, corporate social responsibility is key, which is why we collaborate with social workplaces in and around Zwolle, the Netherlands, for the assembly and packaging of our sets. Our headquarters and warehouse are also located in this region, ensuring close cooperation with these workplaces.
Local Social Workplaces
In total, we work with 12 different social workplaces in the Zwolle region. Each day, approximately 15 employees per location are involved in producing our sets, allowing us to produce up to 100,000 sets per week collectively. This collaboration provides employment opportunities for people who face challenges entering the labor market.
The employees at these social workplaces often have physical or intellectual disabilities or little to no work experience. They fall under the Participation Act, an initiative by the Dutch government aimed at enabling as many people as possible to actively participate in society. By working with us, these employees develop crucial skills such as teamwork, punctuality, and interacting with supervisors. These skills help improve their future career prospects.
In addition to our collaboration with social workplaces, we also partner with two prisons in Zwolle and Nieuwegein. Here, inmates are given the opportunity to make a positive contribution to society by assisting in assembling our sets.
From Idea to Fully Assembled Sets
How does the process work? A set typically consists of 4 or 5 different products. At each production table, multiple employees work together, each assigned a specific task. For instance, one employee might add a cleaning cloth to the package, while another is responsible for adding a toilet roll. This streamlined process ensures that each set is assembled efficiently.
Not everyone prefers to work in a team, and we respect that. For employees who prefer to work independently, we always find a suitable solution. Everyone involved in packing our sets does work that suits them and makes them feel comfortable. This creates a positive and motivated working environment.
